Devious Journal Entry

Tue Jan 27, 2009, 6:55 PM
Eh... I'm back, I guess, I think. Gaining and losing several things. I'll start with things lost. Because let's face it, everyone young enough to have a chance to do so has gone through the "angsty-angry-post-random-everything-on-the-internet" phase.

Things Lost List (Lost List!):
1. Anger. Decidedly gone. Was I sane when I posted before?
2. Angst. Specifically the computer kind, see things gained. Also, I have my LJ for that. Except not really angst, because it all ends up sounding like satire. Because my school fails that much.
3. "I'm so bad at drawing I want to cut my hand off just to stop myself from drawing" attitude. So long, not chasing after you.

Things Gained List:
1. A computer. A decent, not-brand-new-anymore computer that doesn't take ten minutes (I wish I'd timed it) to resize things.
2. A drawing tablet. Hallelujah!, and no I do not think I spelled that right. My French is better though. Again, was my brain dead when I spelled "voila" "woila"? I most definitely should have known better.
3. Photoshop (does dance). My aunt got a Mac and so couldn't use her copy anymore. So I ended up with the whole CS2 shebang. And I'm actually starting to figure out how to use it (does another dance).
4. Fandoms. Hide.
5. Maturity. Because everyone is annoying in middle school.

Rats shrivel up and die if they dont, like, get to hang out with other rats ...
"And in a roundabout way, that gets us back to what the Internet has wrought. For, as Mr. Lessig points out, anybody who owns a computer can now create content that is based on someone else’s creation. Indeed, we do all the time, by posting content on Facebook, on YouTube, everywhere on the Internet. If the creation of that content is deemed to be a violation of copyright, “then we have a whole generation of criminals,” said Mr. Lessig — which is terribly corrosive to society. But if it is fair use, as it ought to be, then it becomes something quite healthy — new forms of free expression and creativity."

A quote from a New York Times article titled "A Tight Grip Can Choke Creativity".

Russians are to James Bond as Nazis are to Indiana Jones. So why is Indiana Jones fighting Russians? Unless by the transitive property of Russians Indiana Jones IS James Bond.
I couldnt care less, this is an artcommunity where copyright violations is against a policy you signed for when you joined. And this isnt even about copyright for me as a person, sometimes I couldnt care less. But having a snapshot from Bleach is not art, its not even remotely funny. This isnt myspace where you upload random stuff, you upload your art and your art only. Please remove the screenshots you have not created on your own, you do have art in your gallery - stick to that.
